Côte des Sables

If you are looking for quiet white beaches with blue-emerald crystal clear waters, uplifting and enchanting hikes and marine wildlife, here is the perfect place ! Come and contemplate the whiteness of the sand and the clarity of the water, the ruggedness of the coast and the power of the waves!

La Côte des Sables ("Sand Coast") stretches from Santec (5 km to the west of Roscoff) to Plouescat; with almost 30 kms of dunes, beaches and rocky shores !

Our most famous hiking trail, the GR34, will lead you along the coast, offering you many opportunities for birdwatching, marine wildlife sightings, and often a spectacular show of crashing waves on the rocky shore. The trail way-marking is a system of red and white paint marks easily recognisable, so no language skills are required to decipher signs !

Have you ever seen a 18th century-old coastguard cottage squizzed between two giant boulders ? Then you definitely have to make a stop along the coast of Cléder, at the Plage ("Beach") Les Amiets and Kerfissien, to discover the beauty of these two well-preserved ancient coastguard cottages.

Tips

Choosing where to start exploring such a trail can be a daunting task. To make things easier, we've set up some itineraries for you in a guide book, available for sale at the Tourist Information Centre (1€).

You don't have a car and wish to travel to The Sand Coast? Take the bus route 25 from Roscoff to Cléder or Plouescat!
